Experteer is a Munich-based career platform for senior professionals. Beyond Jobs was a mobile app concept designed to help executives find curated opportunities without the friction of uploading a CV. Instead, users answered guided questions that built their profile and visibility score — the more complete the profile, the better the job matches.
I led all design efforts across branding, UI, user flows, and onboarding motion, collaborating closely with the PM, engineers, and the founder.
Challenge & Approach
Most job apps felt generic and transactional — the opposite of what senior professionals expect. Executives didn't want to upload a résumé just to browse, and the existing experience gave new users no clear sense of how the matching worked or why it was worth their time.
The brief was to rethink the entire experience from the ground up — starting with trust. That meant replacing the CV upload with a conversational profile builder, designing an onboarding flow that explained the product's value immediately, and creating a visual identity that felt premium enough for the audience it was targeting.

Branding & Visual Direction
I created a brand system built around AI-driven personalisation — a hexagon symbol for structure, a dot-matrix "e" for digital identity, and a green and black palette for contrast and sophistication. Typography was set in Helvetica Neue throughout.
The goal was to make Beyond Jobs feel distinctly different from generic job boards — more like a personal career intelligence tool than a listings platform.


Product Screens & Key User Flows
Onboarding An animated intro explained the product vision and encouraged LinkedIn sign-in to reduce friction at entry. First impressions were everything for this audience.
Profile Builder A conversational flow replaced the CV upload entirely. Users answered guided questions and earned visibility points to unlock better job matches — turning profile completion into a rewarding experience rather than a chore.
Login The initial email and password version had high drop-off. It was later simplified based on user data — a direct result of testing and iteration during the project.
Premium Upsell The subscription screen was designed and tested with feature highlights and bestseller tags to improve conversion. Small copy and layout decisions had measurable impact on upgrade rates.
Dashboard Users tracked their visibility score and were nudged to improve profile completion. The score mechanic gave people a clear reason to keep engaging with the app.
Job Feed Curated job suggestions based on profile data. Clean layout with company logos and direct recruiter links — designed for senior professionals who value quality over volume.

Outcome / Results
The redesign delivered measurable results across every key metric — +36% increase in user sign-up rate, +23% improvement in profile completion, and +8% boost in upsell conversions. The project validated the importance of trust-building in onboarding and showed that conversational UX, when used appropriately, can significantly improve early engagement.
One honest learning: the chat-style flow didn't work for all user mindsets. Some executives found it unconventional. Simplifying the visual complexity also improved frontend performance — a reminder that good design and good engineering share the same goals.
